Class of 2012 Guidance Students
Instructor: Mrs. Berry

Greetings seniors!
Happy last semester of high school!  Make it count by keeping those grades up (a great way to avoid end of the year exams:) and keeping those friendships kind and memorable!

Please remember to give us a copy of your acceptance letters and scholarship awards. (You can make the copies in guidance.)

Also, p
lease remember to get me a wallet sized picture of yourself for my senior board in guidance.  I'd like to have 100% from the senior class.  I enjoy them this year and then I laminate all four years' posters and give them to the alumnae office after you graduate so that  you will have them for your class reunions.  Good times ahead!

As usual, if there’s anything I can do to help you with this year, please let me know!

Best wishes,
Mrs. Berry

IMPORTANT REMINDER

YOU HAVE TWO IMPORTANT JOBS TO DO ASAP!!!

1.      Update your college and scholarship information on Naviance.  Come to guidance if you need help with this.  I learned how to do this recently and it is very simple.

2.      You must provide the guidance office with a paper copy of your admissions letters and/or scholarship awards.

Don’t just submit the offers you intend to accept, submit a copy of EVERYTHING!!!  You must carefully follow these 2 steps in order to be included in the Senior Honors Book plus our guidance office needs to keep your file accurate.  PLEASE follow these 2 important steps!!!

WKU Scholarship and Honors College
There are WKU scholarship and Honors College applications in Guidance.
College and Scholarship Application Deadline List

Mrs. Jackson explained this schedule when she came to your English class first semester.  Let me know if you still have any questions.

College and Scholarship Application Deadline Checklist

Applications for college and scholarships are processed in order of priority and deadline and should be received by the Guidance Office *10 school days before they must be postmarked for mailing to the college or scholarship agency.

Below is a listing of the most common application deadline dates and the corresponding dates that all materials must be turned in to guidance in order to meet the deadline.

A POSTMARK deadline means that the application must be mailed by the deadline.  An IN-HAND deadline means that the application must be received OR “YOUR FILE COMPLETED” and ready to be processed by the deadline date. We have to postmark in-hand deadlines 5-7 days prior to the deadline.

Remember, it is your responsibility to determine from your college or scholarship agency as to whether a deadline is a POSTMARK deadline or an    IN-HAND deadline and turn in the required paperwork to Guidance by the proper deadline listed above.

  • A $2 transcript fee is charged for each transcript needed when submitted by the 10 school day deadline.  A $10 transcript fee will be charged for each application submitted 6-9 school days before the application’s mailing deadline. A $15 transcript fee will be charged for each application submitted 5 school days or less prior to its mailing deadline.  The guidance center cannot guarantee that a deadline will be met if processing is requested less than five school days before the mailing deadline. The Student is responsible for overnight delivery fees in addition to the transcript fee.
